Volunteers
The Vacaville Fire Department is an “all paid” Department which means that
all of our firefighters are paid. We don’t have volunteer firefighters. However,
the Department does have a volunteer program to partner with skilled,
responsible citizens capable of assisting the Department in delivering programs
and services to our community. This includes programs such as Fire and Life
Safety Education, Home Fire Safety Surveys, K-9 Search and Rescue, Community
Events and Disaster Preparedness.
Volunteers are highly valuable to us, and are evaluated for security and suitability
to the work performed. Members of the community are recruited periodically
when the need arises and when we have the resources available to provide training
and orientation.
The Volunteer Program will reinstate the volunteer recruitment process in
the coming months. Watch here for details or send us an email to have your name
put on the “volunteer interest list.” We will contact you when the recruitment
begins.
